From noon-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012, the Science Museum of Virginia will have a Family Cultural Saturday: One World Celebration event.

There’ll be plenty to see & do, including getting creative with arts & crafts and watching performances by the Richmond Boys Choir, UR Taiko Drumming Ensemble, Crossroad Irish Dance Troupe, and One Voice Choir, plus a Chinese Dragon Dance.

Bonus: The first 250 families that visit on April 28 will receive free admission. Family Cultural Saturday is free for members & included with exhibit admission.

While you’re there, be sure to check out the RACE: Are We So Different? exhibition: “RACE examines the topic from scientific, historical and cultural perspectives, demonstrating how economic interests, power struggles, scientific research and even popular culture have informed the American understanding of race, and have provided a sturdy framework for discrimination. The exhibit shines a spotlight on our experience with the concept of race in everyday American life — at school and work, at the doctor’s office and in the halls of Congress.”
