I wonder if artists are like writers…if you read over my shoulder, my brain shuts down, & I can’t write a word. If you want to find out if they can work while you watch, head out for this event:

During Plein Air Richmond, artists paint “en plein air,” meaning that all work will be done outside or using natural light. Though artists have been painting all week to create the works that’ll be on display at Brazier Gallery (1616 West Main Street) on June 23 & 24, 2012, you’ve got an opportunity to mix & mingle with the artists as they create one-of-a-kind works for you to bring home on the spot.

From 9:00 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 23, “Fast and Fresh” will take place along Monument Avenue. Juried & non-juried artists will start & complete paintings during the event, and the “wet” paintings will be available for purchase straight off the easels. Proceeds benefit the Richmond Symphony.
