My kids discovered roller skating at a birthday party, and they’re hooked. 
They’re terrible at it, but that doesn’t stop them from trying to work their way around the rink. We may need to take advantage of this deal this summer:
At KidsSkateFree.com, you can register at participating skating rinks to receive coupons that’ll let your kids skate free this summer. I checked Virginia, and the deal is valid at Roller Dome Family Fun Center in Richmond through June 30, 2012. Once you register, you’ll receive a weekly email with free skating coupons, which are valid during the “Kids Skate Free” hours listed on the registration page. Skate rental is $3 for quads or $5 for inlines, though you can bring your own skates if you have them. Rollerdome Family Fun Center is located at 4902 Williamsburg Road, Richmond.
And you can skate on the cheap if you have the Richmond Entertainment Book. In the 2012 print edition, you’ll find skating coupons for Roller Dome, Skate Nation Plus in Glen Allen, Richmond Ice Zone, Skateland in Ashland, & Skate-A-Way in Midlothian. You can order the print edition of the Entertainment Book or opt for the digital edition of the Entertainment Book.; deals will vary in the digital edition.
FYI: If you sign up for email updates from the skating centers, they’ll often use it to send out coupons or let you know about other specials.
