On Friday & Saturday, August 10 & 11, head to Our Lady of Lourdes church in Henrico for the 2012 Filipino Festival.
Admission is free, and there’ll be plenty to do: listen to live music, watch folk dancing demonstrations, learn more about Filipino culture, or let the kids burn off energy in the kids’ play zone. And definitely bring a few bucks to sample Filipino fare while you’re there. It’s a good opportunity to eat everything from pork adobo to empanadas.
The 2012 Filipino Festival runs from 5:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, and 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11.
Our Lady of Lourdes is located at 8200 Woodman Rd., Henrico. Overflow parking is available at the Church of the Epiphany on Hermitage Road and the Christ Lutheran Church on Woodman Road. A shuttle bus will arrive on site every 15 minutes.
