Comic fans, take note; this looks like a can’t-miss weekend:
From September 7-29, 2012, &@$#!: An Exhibition of Comic Artists will be on display at Gallery5. &@$#! features original comic pencil and ink drawings as well as art prints from comic artists, including self-published artists as well as those whose work has been published by Marvel, Disney, DC, Dark Horse, Image, First Second, AdHouse Books, & more.
The opening reception will take place from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, and it will include vending booths by Velocity Comics and AdHouse Books, live musical performances, and a large exhibition of original concept works and fine art by featured artists.
Bonus: Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, Gallery5 will host a 24-Hour Comic Day during which a group of writers & artists will attempt to create a full 24-page comic in 24 hours.
Gallery5 is located at 200 W. Marshall Street, Richmond.
