Carnival of 5 Fires, a four-day (nonconsecutive) festival, kicks off tonight at Gallery5.

Here’s the lineup:

  • Friday, October 5, 6:00 p.m. Visuals: A mixed media exhibition. Admission is free since it’s part of the First Fridays Art Walk. There’ll be a multi-media art showcase, PLF street fire & DJ show, cabaret performances from the Festival cast on-stage, a set from ‘The Big Payback’: James Brown Tribute band, art cars, vendors, projections, carney folk & attractions.
  • Friday, October 12, 9:00 p.m. The Party Liberation Front Presents: Spookeasy Masquerade. The 18+ event is a speakeasy-inspired night of live music by Alison Self and Friends with DJs Mr Jennings and Reinhold, dancing, cocktails, flappers, fedoras, video and masks (if one so desires) with a reception for the PLF “Visuals” art show upstairs. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door.
  • Friday, October 19, 8:00 p.m. Deanna Danger Productions & Vaudeville Galore Presents: Gypsies! Tramps! Thieves! The 18+ event features a three-ring, performance art circus of burlesque, bellydance, aerial arts, sideshow, & storytelling. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
  • Saturday, October 27, 8:00 p.m. The Richmond Burlesque Revue Presents: Ghouls & Gams: A Horrifying Burlesque Show in 3-DD. The 18+ event includes a silver screen monster movie burlesque madness feat: Deepa de Jour, Ophelia Derriere, Magnolia Jackson Pickett Burnside, Deanna Danger, Chris Chaos, Eerie Twilight, Buster Britches, Puppie Buffé and Lilly Vaudeville, plus live music from the Creep-A-Zoids, a costume contest, & more. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.

Planning to go each week? You can save a bit if you buy the $25 full festival pass. Oh, and costumes are encouraged for all four days of the Carnival of 5 Fires.

Gallery5 is located at 200 W. Marshall Street, Richmond.
