InLight Richmond, a public exhibition of light-based art organized by 1708 Gallery, will take place from 7:00 p.m.-midnight on Friday, November 2, 2012. This year, InLight Richmond will take place on W. Broad Street from Henry Street to Adams Street in downtown Richmond.
The event begins with a Community Lantern Parade at 7:30 p.m. To participate, B.Y.O.L. (bring your own lantern) to the intersection of Brook and W. Marshall St. at 7:00 p.m.; they’ll give you an LED candle for your lantern. Need a lantern? You can make one with Art180 starting at 6:00 p.m.
The art installations in the area’s storefronts, alleyways, and vacant lots include works by 21 artists and artist groups and feature light as the material and subject (map of the site & exhibitions).
