‘Tis the season for Oktoberfest celebrations. Here’s one to get you started:

On October 6 & 7, 2012, Capital Ale House-Downtown will host its 10th Annual Oktoberfest celebration. The event features SGTEV Hirschjager German dancers, German music by The Continentals and Die Immergrun Musikanten, German beer & food,  & more.

There’s a $2 cover charge to attend Oktoberfest 2012, but you can feel good about paying it: Proceeds benefit FeedMore, an organization that provides food options, like Meals on Wheels & food banks, to people in need in the community.

Oktoberfest 2012 will take place in the street (they’re closing four blocks between Main Street & 6th Street Street). Saturday’s festivities start at noon & end at 10:00 p.m., and Sunday’s start at noon & end at 6:00 p.m. On both nights, you can bring the party indoors, as Capital Ale House will be open until 1:30 a.m.

Capital Ale House-Downtown is located at 623 East Main Street (6th and Main St.), Richmond. 804-780-ALES. The Downtown location offers free parking after 4:00 pm weekdays and anytime on weekends in the Lanier Parking Systems Deck located on 6th & Cary Street.
