I rarely need an excuse to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts; the exhibitions alone are enough to get me in the door.
But if you want a little something extra when you go, head out on the second Friday of the month.
From 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. each month, you can check out a Second Fridays wine tasting event at VMFA’s Best Café. Amuse Restaurant Service Manager Tony Karabaich pours his choices of reds, whites, sparkling, and more.
Bonus: Since VMFA’s Friday Art + Wine events also take place on Friday evenings, you can take advantage of other perks. The galleries stay open until 9:00 p.m., drinks are half price at Best Café, and there are free half-hour gallery tours at 7:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. On October 12, you can take the Heart of Glass tour.
