Join Henricus Historical Park on Saturday, January 31, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., for a Revolutionary War event “1781 Arnold’s Raid on Richmond.” Period-dressed historical interpreters will occupy the bluff overlooking the James River and portray the winter of 1781 when General Benedict Arnold took his small British and Loyalist forces and raided Richmond as Governor Thomas Jefferson watched from the safety of Manchester.
Visitors are invited to join the American militia, British regulars, Hessians and Loyalists in camp. Period-dressed historical interpreters will portray camp life, uniforms, weapons and drill of the armies. Visitors are invited to the bluff for the Revolutionary War event and to tour the Colonial and Virginia Indian sites.
Admission for this event is free for Henricus Foundation Patrons, $8 for adults and $6 for children aged 3-12.
