On Saturday, December 29, 2012, it’s time for the Capital City Kwanzaa Festival.
From 1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., there’ll be music, dance and spoken word performances as well as an African Market, Heritage Crafts for Children, & more. The Drum Call, Processional, and Candle Lighting Ceremony starts at 2:00 p.m., so head out early to celebrate Kwanzaa and enjoy all of the afternoon’s festivities.
You can save $1 by ordering tickets in advance: Tickets for the 2012 Capital City Kwanzaa Festival are $7 for adults & $6 for students (age 12-18) and seniors (age 65+) at the door; children under age 12 are admitted free. Group tickets (10+ tickets) are $5 each, and they must be purchased in advance.
The Capital City Kwanzaa Festival will take place at The Showplace Exhibition Center, 3000 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Richmond.
