With so much discussion recently and debates on historical issues and events, it’s the perfect time to take a closer look and learn more. And when the discussion compares current issues with historical debates, it makes for an interesting group talk. That’s why we’re so interested in the upcoming event with The Valentine Museum about immigration during an earlier time in history.
The Valentine Museum is proud to announce their Controversy/History series! This new take on their “long-running Community Conversations will explore contentious, present-day issues by comparing historic debates with modern data.”
The event is January 2, 2018 from 6pm-8pm and it’s free. The third event of the series focuses on immigration using historic figures from Richmond’s past. An expert speaker will then provide on-the-ground data concerning immigration in the Richmond region today. Attendees will engage in in-depth conversations and will receive concrete action steps.
