Holiday lights + the James River = festive night out:
The James River Parade of Lights returns on Saturday, December 14, 2013. During the boat parade, boaters decorate their vessels with holiday lights & trimmings, adding a festive touch to the holiday season. The parade route runs from Richmond to Henricus Historical Park in Chesterfield County.
You can find your own spot along the shoreline, or head to one of the viewing sites:
- Libby Hill (corner of 28th & Franklin Streets). Entertainment starts at 4:30, and the parade viewing starts at 6:00 p.m.
- Intermediate Terminal Dock (Dock & Water Streets): Parade viewing at 6:00 p.m.
- Osborne Park & Boat Landing (9530 Osborne Turnpike): Entertainment starts at 4:00 p.m., and the parade viewing starts between 7:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
- Dutch Gap Boat Landing (441 Coxendale Rd.): Parade viewing starts between 7:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.
- Henricus Historical Park (251 Henricus Park Rd.): Entertainment starts at 6:00 p.m., and the parade viewing starts between 7:45 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
