First-come, first-served sign-ups for Second Fridays start at 5 p.m. in VisArts’ lobby. Watch an artist demonstration between 5 and 6 p.m., then head to your class at 6 p.m. or come back for the second session, which starts at 7:30 p.m. All classes cost $15 and you can expect 5 or 6 options each week. And, looking ahead, mark your calendar for the Visual Arts Center’s Craft + Design, a museum-quality show that has garnered a reputation for showcasing the finest in contemporary craft on November 22-24, 2019 at the Main Street Station’s renovated train shed.Shoppers spend the weekend browsing the work of over 150 artists from across the country. Awards are presented in ceramics, precious metals, glass, wood and recycled materials, contemporary design, innovative use of traditional craft materials and fiber.
