Set Sail for Fun!
It’s once again the season for Riverfront Historic Canal Cruises in Richmond!
Guided, 40-minute historically narrated boat tours that go up and down the James River and Kanawha Canal along Downtown Richmond’s historic Canal Walk, are now available this spring and will continue through the summer and beyond!
Each canal tour’s captain will educate passengers about a millennia of Richmond’s history, from prehistoric formations to Native American Chief Powhatan’s rule of the area, to 20th and 21st-century transportation; all while traveling in beautiful canal boats down scenic waterways! Visitors will see Richmond’s unique railroad Triple Crossing, historic 19th and 20th century architecture, the Virginia Capital Trail, the Low Line Gardens and James River wildlife, including turtle nesting grounds.
