A zoo visit includes a chance to view animals, safari rides, and a new safe playground for kids await. Feed the penguins, otters, and many other animals. Hand feed llamas, goats, deer, and many baby animals such as zebras, camels, antelope, elk, and much more.
There are various monkeys that have a special enrichment food that can be purchased at zoo feed stations and tossed to the primates throughout the zoo.
Gray wolf exhibit is now on view at The Metro Richmond Zoo. Learn how this native North American animal can live in a variety of habitats: forest, woodland, grassland, tundra, and arid locations. They are the largest member of the family Canidae. The Gray wolf is known for its legendary howl that can be heard up to seven miles away in wooded areas. Be prepared to see the predator with a coat that may be gray, white, black, or a mixture of these colors.
The new Gray wolf exhibit is located in the North American section of the Zoo near the alligators, elk, and bison. The large habitat is nestled in a forested and hilly area of the park. Visitors have great views of the wolves from an elevated boardwalk that wraps around the perimeter of the habitat.
The new Treetop Zoofari is absolutely awesome. This exciting tree-to-tree outdoor adventure allows visitors to experience nature like never before, high in the forest canopy.
The park offers exercise, fun, adventure, challenges, and builds confidence as you travel through varying degrees of thrilling obstacles such as jungle ropes, floating logs, tight wires, Indiana Jones bridges, a surf board zip, Tarzan swing and everyone’s favorite – zip lines. Sixteen zip lines carry you over 3000 feet through the forest and above the zoo, including a mammoth 600 foot zip over the zoo’s lake.
