Scotchtown’s Annual Fiber Festival is B-A-A-C-K!
On Saturday, April 11, Historic Scotchtown, the former residence of Patrick Henry, will be celebrating three things that go well together: Springtime, Sheep Shearing and Wool Fiber Production!
5th Annual Celebration
This year marks the festival’s 5th anniversary as sheep farmers, sheep shearers and wool production experts will be on hand to demonstrate and answer questions about wool carding, spinning, dyeing, and everything else that goes into making wool clothing.
Featured guests will include sheep shearers from Delly’s Delights Farms, members of Richmond’s own educational non-profit Clothos Handspinners Guild, and members of the the Louisa County Heritage Society.
Date, Time and Cost
The Scotchtown Annual Fiber Festival will take place Saturday April 11th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Historic Scotchtown, 16120 Chiswell Lane in Beaverdam, Virginia.
Even though the festival is about sheep shearing, you will not be fleeced on admission costs! Tickets are only $10 for adults and children over 12 years of age. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge. Students with valid identification, and Preservation Virginia members, can attend for a special discounted rate of only $5.
