Looking for a family-friendly way to start celebrating America’s 250th birthday early on July 4th?
Ashland, Virginia will be kicking off patriotic festivities starting at 11:00 a.m. with its 250th 4th of July Parade, followed by other great family-oriented fun.
After the parade, stay for the Old-Fashioned Lawn Party, the Founding Fathers Costume Contest, the Patriotic Pet Contest and the Apple-Pie Baking Contest and Auction.
There will also be a patriotic musical performance by the Hanover Concert Band and an opportunity for you to contribute items to a time capsule that will be opened in 2051, as well as old-fashioned lawn games, cold snow cones, hot dogs and hamburgers!
So come on down for a day of fun celebrating our country’s independence!

- 11:45am Presentation of Colors, Hanover Concert Band Patriotic Concert on the Lawn
- 12:00pm Lawn Party (Food, Games, Patriotic Pet Contest Judging Begins)
- 12:30pm – 12:40pm Pie Winners Announced, Pies Auctioned, Pet Winners Announced, all prizes awarded
