The Richmond Hot Air Balloon Festival is happening May 8–9, 2026, at The Meadow Event Park, 13048 Meadow Farm Rd in Doswell, Va.
Gates open each night at 5 p.m. Make sure to bring chairs, blankets (and umbrellas, just in case!) to be able to comfortably witness the show. At about 6:30 p.m. (or when winds allow), hot air balloons will fire up and take center stage, offering tethered rides for $35. After dark, hot air balloons will light up with musical accompaniment, lasers and synchronized flame bursts, offering a one-of-a-kind experience.
What to Expect
In addition to hot air balloon displays, there will be live music, retail, craft and food vendors, a kids play area — and an overall carnival vibe.
Tickets start at $22.69 for adults and $12.09 for children 5 years and older. Children under 5 are FREE! Parking is $5.00
No coolers or outside food is allowed.
