Tall sailing ships have arrived in Portsmouth!
These historical vessels with tall masts and sails are currently docked in Portsmouth, Va. and will soon be ready to be boarded and toured by festival goers in celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday celebration. They will be there June 19th through June 22nd.
Three tall sailing ships: The Pride of Baltimore, the Virginia from Norfolk and the Oosterschelde from the Netherlands, are but three of the headliners for Sail Virginia 2026, a weekend-long celebration of both Portsmouth’s storied past and how that past ties in with the nation’s 250th birthday.The four-day waterfront festival features public tall ship tours, live music, the High Street Festival and Juneteenth celebrations.
