Field Day of the Past (Sept. 20-22, 2019) is a family event sponsored by the Rockville-Centerville Steam and Gas Historical Association in Goochland. This show mixes the warm, down-home atmosphere of the county fairs of yesteryear with exhibits and displays of museum quality. The show has expanded into a 3 day event, held the third full weekend in September and draws a crowd of approximately 35,000 people annually. Truck pulls are one of the attractions.
Musical entertainment is provided by Mountain Highway performing traditional bluegrass music throughout the 2019 Field Day of the Past events in Rockville, VA during the third weekend in September.
The band’s performances will be held at the Blacksmith Shop on the fairgrounds, where the band will play songs originally made famous by music icons like Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley, and Flatt & Scruggs. The group will play bluegrass, instrumental, gospel, and country music over the course of the weekend. If you enjoy traditional music and tight harmony, be sure to look for Mountain Highway at Field Day of the Past!
